Back to Forgehome

The group returned to Forgehome and turned over the relic of the Hammer of Ivak Stoneblood to Torak Banehammer of the temple of Moradin and Forgehome.  Torak was so pleased that he allowed the group, Ilthana specifically, to keep his thundering warhammer.

Needing some time off and a cold beer, the group was finally allowed inside the drinking hall.  While they were there, they ran into a strange dwarf named Khord Trollhunter who gave them a stern warning:

Quote :
“Beware of Danovar Brighthelm.  He works for the drow as a slave trader.  Promising followers routes to treasure, but instead leads them into planned ambushes.  Watch your backs, he is no friend.”
Ilthana gazed into the dwarf’s eyes and deemed him a liar, but thanked him for his consideration.

The Splintered Spring

The Six Fingers set out on their final quest in Forgehome, given to them by Megoras Longbeard of the Longbeard Mining Company to retrieve a ritual book that was stolen from couriers.

The trail was a strange one to follow as the heroes could only find spider tracks every 30 feet or so, knowing that they were phasing in and out instead of walking.  Eventually the trail led to a huge underground lake.

The group found a raft and slowly paddled their way across a mist-covered lake when they heard a disturbance ahead.  The heroes quickly beached the raft to set up as a place to defend.  Soon two dolgaunt dark-hailers riding two blackwater serpents were on top of them attacking.

Once that was dealt with the group continued to the other side of the lake and onto the lip of a crater.  The tracks continued to lead to a hole in the center from which the group would have to decend.

Another large cavern, more badguys, and yet another hole to climb through.  He is nothing if not consistent, but Dende fell again into the last room of the adventure.  Carlos had to drop as he was being attacked by green slimes

The group encountered some difficulties getting on shore, and then, staying on shore.  All of the spiders, even the minions, had some sort of phasing/teleporting ability.  The dolgaunt monk was the leader of this band of spiders, and was the final one to fall in combat.

After resting up, the Six Fingers found a more unearthly sigils scribed in filth upon the walls that immediately made the viewer feel sick.  However, near that area the Six Fingers found the Ritual book that the Longbeard Company had been looking for.

Once the heroes returned to Forgehome and returned the ritual book, they took a bit of a break as they had been on the go nonstop since arriving in the dwarven mining community.
